A Place for Creative Kids

The Early Days

The Creative Adventure began in the fall of 1990 with in home playgroup classes for children in art, theater and music.  In 1991 we opened our first location in a small warehouse in West LA, and then moved to a much larger location in the Olympic Collection in 1992.  For the next 17 years we would offer classes in music, art, dance, mommy & me, and theater. Also in those years we would expand our program to include a small preschool and The Creative Kids Youth Theater Project.

Our Theater Program

Our Theater program started as a single class at Creative Kids, and in a short amount of time it became one of our most popular programs.  We expanded the program by building additional space in the Olympic Collection, but soon learned that space was too small for our needs. In 2002 we moved our expanding theater program to its current site at Nora Sterry Elementary School Theater.  This move allowed us to expand our program to meet the growing demand, work in a much larger space, and invest in our local school.

Nora Sterry Elementary School

As a part of our arrangement with Nora Sterry School, we began offering tuition free classes to their students.  Each year every 4th and 5th grader at Nora Sterry (a Title 1 school) can participate in the school musical, which performs in the spring.  This program has been the high point of the school year for nearly two decades.
